BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

So a while back I had mentioned a "big announcement..."
Through time, our wedding, this blog and my wonderful followers' words I have learned what I am best at: design. I cannot say I will only design weddings, I'm very domestic and love home design, too. But the proportionately overwhelming stats on my dress design posts from you guys show me that the next step I need to take is...
 Omaha Fashion Week!
It's local, it's conceptual and brand new. There are hardly rules attached to it, only expectations of "new." I feel motivated to try and move forward with my Rosette Ribbon bride and design a Spring 2013 Collection to show at OFW Fall 2012 Show. I am setting my goal now to have 4 pieces to show in the Fall that work together around my design concept. I think the connotations of Prize Ribbons will show well here in the Heartland what with State and County Fairs having just started/happened/ended right around the time of the show. It is playful, it is light and bright and fun.
I have been inspired by Princess Lasertron, a fellow Omaha lady I actually went to school with, who just released her dress line at OFW this year with rave reviews. She is so artistic and so motivated; I am inspired to do something with my vision.
So why tell you now?
Well because, silly. I can't blog and be glued to the sewing machine all Fall and Winter... I have to get a garment finished by March to show at the application interview! I will still blog in the frequency I have been as of late and I promise I'll update on my progress as it is made!
Thank you all for your LoVE and support, have a great Fall weekend!

Love,
