Back in August I shared with you that I have 2 Ovarian Cysts. They were benign, thank Jah, but they cause me a great deal of pain on a weekly basis, especially the right side. I have to take nasty pain medication and hope that it works without making me ill. It's vicious.
2 weeks ago it was so bad on my right side that I had to call into work one day and leave early another day because I couldn't function with the severity of the pain. I wasn't supposed to have my follow-up visit after September until right before my birthday this year in April but I couldn't wait. They scheduled for me to come in today.
I have done so much research on how to shrink my cysts without surgery and I've taken leaps and bounds into being proactive about healing myself.
We have cut out all beef and other hormone-containing foods. Now we eat meat 3 times a week and the meats we choose are either fish, chicken or wild game that has only been butchered. Vegetables fill our plates for other meals and I drink a crapton of water as well.
Not only are the changes we have made food-related, but stress-related as well: we meditate daily and we work out at least 3 times a week. This helps to manage our stress and boost our endorphins, along with all the other benefits of movin' your body.
So this pain 2 weeks ago was... frustrating. Trying so hard to just get seemingly nowhere is hard.
Today at the doctor we discussed the pain and its frequency and symptoms and we're trying different pain meds and a lower hormone OC from the one I currently use. The doctor was curious to see if the cyst had changed since the pain is increasing in intensity so I agreed to wait for and hour and a half to be ultrasounded. I'd like to see that too, yeah.
Guess what?
One is gone. Disappeared. Poof. Vanished.
The other ugly MF'er is still there and is stable but unchanged. And it was decided that it is not even on my ovary specifically, but next to it. It isn't hurting my ovary!
I really don't care that I have a ping pong sized mass in there anymore. I know what I am doing is helping, especially the positive thinking part. We're going to discuss laproscopically draining the 2" mass on my right side since it is causing me more problems than I have shared here, so hopefully I'll have an update on that by the end of the month!
Thank you for reading! Make sure you talk to a woman you love about Ovarian Cancer. It's important!

Wow, that is amazing that one of them is gone! That is such great news!
It is such an eye opening concept that you had the control over your body to make the changes that made it go away. So often our society jumps right to surgery, and it isn't always necessary!
@Morgan thank you for sharing in my excitement! I'm so happy about this. Knowing you can heal yourself is the biggest part, I think. I'm going to keep trying!
this is crazy girl! I had very painful polyps in my uterus about 6 months ago, but I had to have surgery & I actually just watched this documentary "forks over knives" last week & since then I stopped eating all meats (except fish I don't think I could live without seafood) I stopped drinking milk as well & only sticking with almond or soy milk & I feel great! I highly recommend that documentary..I'm so glad you are feeling better, I am I just wish I would have watched it years ago..lol :) p.s. I'm on Pinterest now & I have no followers..lol I'm getting used to it! xoxo
wow. continue with your positive thinking and i hope things get better.
You showed that nasty MFer who was boss and kicked its ass, girl! Keep it up! I'm so sorry you've had to endue so much pain, but you have a great attitude, and I'm hopeful the other one will take a hike very soon, too. So glad to hear it isn't hurting your ovary! You rock, lady!
@GyspyFox, I hear ya! We eat fish still because I would get cranky with no salmon. Or tuna salad. Or parm-crusted tiliapia.
I'm so glad the doc helped you! It sounds like a GREAT film that I'd be very interested in!
@Amy b.s. thank you!!!
@Heather you have to be rock and roll to kick cyst-ass like this; thank you for your commendation! I'm counting on the other one just getting up and leaving, too!
I am so happy for you! That's great that you had such a dramatic improvement! I hope the other is gone the next time they go looking for it.
yes definetly check it out! :)
@Stacie thank you, I hope so too.
Girl my thoughts and prayers are with you. I had no idea you were going through all this, but I am so thankful to see that one cyst is gone and hopefully you will get a handle on the pain and even better the other will go away too. I KNOW what it is like to deal with pain after the physical ordeals I have been through medically and I am hopeful you find comfort soon!
XOXO,
Jamie
