Groom in Shorts

I refuse to accept that our wedding planning is going on hold for Christmas. So I'm still researching my fiance's fashion choices he has made for the wedding. He loves pinstripe so we started off of that. Since I have gotten my dress and he found his shoes (hemp rope sandles with black straps) he has expressed that he wants to wear shorts.
I am all for my groom in shorts.

Sandals + Pants = Cheese. Who are we trying to fool? No one! This is a casual wedding now and my bare feet will be showing. So he will be wearing shorts, a shrug-sleeve notch tail jacket and a vest with dress shirt. In the perfect series of events we will find a pinstripe ensemble for him to this description that he will love.
Some of our family members raise an eyebrow to his choice but it is just that-- his choice and I happen to like it. He's unique in what he wears everyday; why should his wedding day be any different? The man never wears jeans. He wears flat front black pants every day of his life. With tee shirts and Vans. I love everything about him to death.
Besides, does this J Crew Couple look questionable?

I know I dont' have a short dress like the girl but I wouldn't feel like I was getting married without a regular long dress with somewhat of a train. I will be barefoot though! I found an amazing dress. I just have to have it slightly altered and replace the lace-back with a colored ribbon. I will probably also crochet 2 bunnies in white lace thread and sew them onto the back of my dress. I know I'm going to take out the white crinoline that comes with my dress and attempt to dye it yellow. If I can't dye it I will buy a yellow one or yards of yellow tulle and make one!
I was originally planning on making a yellow wedding dress, however I am not that experienced in clothing creation and decided it would be best to let my dress find me. After seeing this this post here at Green Wedding Shoes my compromise to myself has been to have 2 dresses: one for the before-wedding photos and my white wedding dress for the ceremony and first dance/cake cutting photos. I plan to make the other dress yellow and short length.

I love this idea. Shorts for the groom and a yellow wedding dress! Girl, you're my kind of bride! Though the short dress may be the way to go. I think with a long dress he may look like a little school boy.

@Hindsight BrideWe decided to cut up the walkway in the front of my dress to ballet length to fully show the feet and give a hi-lo hem effect. That should work now! Thank you!!!
